In the few months since the Blast-Off Burlesque collective was born, we’ve had a great time entertaining you and we’re eagerly anticipating all that 2007 has in store for us.

We’re so honored to be a part of the Silver Scream Spook Show at the Plaza Theatre and will continue to join in the madness as this becomes an Atlanta institution. Last night (Saturday the 30th) was the final Spook Show of the year; we celebrated New Fear’s Eve with a monster party and a showing of Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein. It was definitely the best show yet (it gets better every time). We have a stage now! Blast-Off’s Ferris Hilton was the Invisible Man, and he got the ladies going with a hot strip-tease. Dickie’s swingin’ Dracula was flanked by the Brides of Frankenstein (Sadie Hawkins & Barbilicious) to dance some Hanky Panky. There was punch and cake! Professor Morte even had a mishap with the shrinking machine! Wertham almost shut down the show, but the monsters beat him at his own game. A good time was had by all! Please join us in January for 20 Million Miles to Earth: this 1957 sci-fi classic features a Venusian monster created by Ray Harryhausen. Don’t miss it!

Blast-Off is also coordinating some small-venue shows, particularly theme shows. For these, we’re looking forward to working with several of Atlanta’s seasoned performers who are interested in our approach to burlesque.
